Born in 1989 on May 5, Lakshmi Rai is an Indian. She is an actress and model from Karnatake basically. She has appeared in a number of Tamil and malayalam films. Most of her movies did very poorly at the box office. However, fame came her way with the release of Annan-Thambi, 2Harihar Nagar, Evidam Swargamanu . She thus was able to place herself as a strong actress in Kerala.
Initially, she entered into modelling, before entering the film industry, She could be seen in a number of commercials like Josco Jewellers, Emmanuel Silks, etcShe is known for her height and her sexy figure. She has also proved herself to be a glamor doll by doing a few item numbers.

In Tamil, Lakshmi Rai had a couple of failures in the beginning. She debuted in Karka Kasadara, opposite Vijay's cousin brother. The film didnt do well at the box office. Following that too, there were a few failures like Nenjai Thottu, Dharmapuri , Kundaka Mandaka. her chance came sometime later, through director Jeeva offering her a chance in his venture, Dhaam Dhoom

Lakshmi Rai later had good roles to play with in 2 films- as a lawyer in Dhaam Dhoom , which won her a lot of fame. and also in Velli Thirai, as herself(as actress)

Her roles were greatly appreciated in the above 2 movies.Though her debut movie in Malayalam , Rock n Roll opposite Mohanlal did very poorly at the box office, her other movies did well and won her critical acclaim.
After her success in malayalam and trying to work that magic formula again, she is working in Casanovva and also Christian Brothers. Both are opposite Mohan Lal
She has also given a superb sexy dance with Raghavendra Lawrence dance master in the tamil movie Irumbukottai Murattusingam , movie which was a hit, in the comedy genre. In 2001, next to Casanovva in 2010, she is in Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P.Madhavan Nairum projects.
